New Rules from 1st October: From 1st October 2025, many major changes are going to happen in IRCTC’s online general ticket booking which can prove to be good for the benefit of the general public.
Starting October 1, 2025, several important regulations will come into effect in the country, impacting everyday activities. These include railway ticket booking, digital payments, online gaming, and the National Pension System (NPS).
Rules for booking train tickets will change
The biggest change is coming to railway ticket booking. Now, the first 15 minutes of general ticket booking on IRCTC will be open only to passengers whose accounts are Aadhaar-linked and fully verified. This will make the ticket booking process more transparent and curb the arbitrariness of ticket booking brokers and agents. This rule will help control the rush of ticket booking during festivals and wedding seasons. There will be no change in the rules for booking tickets from pre-offline PRS counters.
New rule will be imposed in digital payment
The digital payments sector will also see major improvements. Effective October 1st, NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) has decided to discontinue the “request for money” call request feature in UPI. This change is being made to protect users from online fraud and phishing. This feature will no longer be available for requesting money on apps like Google Pay and PhonePe.
There will be a change in the pension scheme
The National Pension System (NPS) will implement a new multiple scheme framework, allowing non-government sector employees, corporate professionals, and gig workers to invest in multiple pension schemes using a single PAN number. This will allow investors to choose the best option based on their convenience and risk appetite.
The new rules of online gaming
The online gaming industry will be subject to stricter regulations. The government has approved a new law, which will come into effect on October 1st. Under this law, online gaming companies will be closely monitored to protect players from fraud and scams. These regulations will make gaming more secure and transparent, and will also ban illegal money-based games.
Through all these changes, the government wants to ensure transparency and security in the interest of the general public, so that fraud and irregularities can be eliminated in all sectors.
