Now big preparations are being made for silver. There is a preparation to make hallmarking mandatory for silver jewellery as well.
Hallmark for silver jewellery
Hallmarking can be done for the purity of silver jewellery. From September 1, a 6-digit code (HUID) can be introduced in hallmarking on silver jewellery as well. These 6-digit codes will tell the purity of silver. Currently, codes are not present in hallmarking of silver. According to Uday Gajanan Shinde, President of Indian Association of Hallmarking Centers, New Delhi, it can be implemented soon.

Often silver jewelry turns black, people are confused about its purity, but soon this tension will end. The government is going to bring a rule to put a hallmark of a special 6-digit HUID number on silver jewelry. This HUID number will tell the purity of silver. It will be divided into 6 grades, which will be 900, 800, 835, 925, 970 and 990.
