Rules Change from November 1: Many rules change at the beginning of every month. Many rules have also changed starting November 1, 2025, which will affect you. It’s worth noting that rules related to everything from bank nominees to GST are changing starting today.

1. Changes in bank nominee rules

Starting today, November 1st, the bank will offer customers the option to add up to four nominees. This means that anyone can now add up to four nominees for a single account, locker, or other account. The bank claims this change is designed to ensure optimal use of funds in an emergency. The process for adding nominees has also been simplified.

2- New GST slabs effective from today

The GST slabs announced by the Indian government last month have come into effect today. The government has eliminated the previous four GST slabs and now has two GST slabs of 5 percent and 18 percent. Luxury items will now be subject to a 40 percent GST.

3- Extended deadline for UPS

The deadline for employees who wish to switch from NPS to UPS has been extended. Employees will now have the option to opt for it until November 30th.

4- Pensioners will have to provide life certificate

Every retired employee must submit a life certificate by the end of November. Pensioners can complete this process through their bank or the Jeevan Pramaan portal. Failure to complete this process on time could result in a delay in receiving their pension.

5- PNB is changing locker charges

Punjab National Bank is expected to revise its locker fees this month. It’s expected that an announcement will be made soon. However, it will take at least 30 days for this to take effect.

6- SBI cardholders will have to pay a 1% fee on these payments.

SBI cardholders will be charged a 1% fee for making education-related payments through third-party apps like MobiKwik or Cred. Additionally, SBI cardholders will be charged a 1% fee for adding more than ₹1,000 to their digital wallet.

7- Aadhaar Card Update Charges

Children will no longer have to pay any money for biometric updates. Previously, the fee was ₹125. Note that this fee waiver is only available for children up to 1 year of age.

An adult updating their name, date of birth, address, or mobile number on their Aadhaar card will only need to pay ₹75. However, updates related to fingerprints or retina will cost ₹125.
