NEET 2020 Exam Postponement Row: Even after rejection of multiple pleas seeking postponement of NEET 2020 exam, today Supreme Court will hear a fresh plea demanding postponement of NEET 2020 exam or increase in the number of exam centres and scattered exam schedule over a period of 5-days for the medical entrance exam. In a last effort to bring some relief to medical aspirants who are to appear for NEET 2020 exam scheduled for 13th Sept 2020; senior lawyers of Supreme Court would be presenting fresh plea for the same today before the apex court.

More Exam Centres, Exams on Multiple Days
According to the details shared by Adv. Alakh Alok Srivastava on his twitter handle, he is working along with a Respected Senior Advocate, who will appear in the Supreme Court seeking relief for medical aspirants. Along with postponement, the fresh plea requests for a staggered examination over 5 – 6 days, much like the JEE Main examination. The petition also seeks directions from court to the NTA for setting up additional examination centres across the country.

Demand for Scattered Examination Gains Momentum
Following the successful conduct of the JEE Main 2020 exam from 1st to 6th Sept, the demand to hold NEET 2020 exam also in similar format has gained momentum. In total around 9 lakh candidates had appeared for JEE Main 2020 engineering entrance exam. This ensured social distancing and other guidelines are followed properly. For NEET 2020, around 15.67 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam on the same day i.e. on 13th Sept 2020. This puts a lot of strain on logistics and exam organizers to ensure social distancing among the students. The fresh plea being filed in the Supreme Court takes these factors into account and demands that exam to be held in scattered manner.
