The date for the first flight to take off from Navi Mumbai International Airport has been fixed. Yes, the first commercial flight from Navi Mumbai International Airport will take off on December 25.

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) said that it will operate commercial flights from December 25. In the initial stage, 23 scheduled flights will be operated in a day. A statement issued on Monday said that in the first month, the airport will provide services for 12 hours from 08.00 am to 08.00 pm and during this time the airport will be able to handle a maximum of 10 flights per hour.

Navi Mumbai International Airport has been developed by NMIAL

Navi Mumbai International Airport was developed by Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (NMIAL), a special purpose vehicle jointly owned by the Adani Group and the Maharashtra Municipal and Industrial Development Corporation Limited (CIDCO). Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Navi Mumbai International Airport on Wednesday, October 8th. The airport received its airport license from the aviation safety regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), on September 30th. It was rumored that the first commercial flight would take off from the airport on October 30th. However, officials clarified that the first commercial flight would take off from Navi Mumbai International Airport in December 2025.

The airport will be known as Loknete DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on October 3 that Navi Mumbai International Airport would be named after the late leader and social activist DB Patil. The full name of Navi Mumbai Airport will be “Loknete DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport.” It should be noted that Navi Mumbai International Airport is being developed in five phases. The Adani Group holds a 74 percent stake in it. The remaining 26 percent is held by CIDCO, the land development authority of the Maharashtra government. Navi Mumbai International Airport will be the second airport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and its code is ‘NMI’.
