Data from several states including Karnataka, Delhi, Haryana, Telangana and Tamil Nadu shows that there is a huge shortage of labor.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a government job portal on July 11, on which more than 69 lakh individual registrations have been done within just forty days. However, only a small number of people who got registration could get jobs. It is learned that between 14 August and 21 August, more than seven lakh people registered in just one week. The number of people who got jobs during this week was just 691.

According to data collected by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, only two per cent of the 3.7 lakh candidates searching for jobs on its ASEEM portal have been provided jobs. In addition, 1.49 out of 6.9 million migrant workers who were registered were offered employment. However, only 7,700 people could get employment.
Sources in the ministry said that the portal was from time to time to assist trained people in various fields. The people who get registered are not just migrant laborers. He said, ‘Tailors, electricians, field technicians, sewing machine operators and candidates employed in the mistry sector are at the top of the list. Apart from this, demand is also high for courier delivery, nurses, manual cleaners and sales associates.

Data from several states including Karnataka, Delhi, Haryana, Telangana and Tamil Nadu shows that there is a huge shortage of labor. A large number of migrant laborers migrated to these states during the corona and lockdowns, most of them from UP and Bihar.

The data shows that the number of candidates seeking employment has increased by eighty percent within a week. That is, between August 14-21, the number increased from 2.97 lakhs to 3.78 lakhs. But during this period, the number of people getting jobs was only 9.87 percent, ie 7,009 to 7,700 people got disease.

Apart from this, the total number of people registered on the portal in the week ended 21 August increased by 11.98 percent and the number increased from 61.67 to 6.9 million.
