Mumbai Airport: Delhi Airport also urged passengers to trust only official sources for accurate information and avoid sharing unverified content on social media.

India Pak Tension: Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said on Sunday that operations at the airport are normal. But some flights are affected due to airspace restrictions and due to strict security protocols, the security check process may take longer than usual. Also, DIAL advised passengers to reach well before the scheduled departure time of the flight to avoid any possible delay at the security checkpoint.

Trust only official sources for correct information

Delhi Airport also urged passengers to trust only official sources for accurate information and avoid sharing unverified content on social media. Apart from this, due to increased security measures, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai has also issued an advisory asking passengers to arrive before the scheduled departure time. Also, passengers have been advised to keep government-issued photo identity card, passport, visa, ticket / boarding pass with them, so that inspection can be done easily.

These airports will remain closed till May 15

The government on Friday extended the period of closure of 24 airports across the country, including Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot, till 05:29 am on May 15. These airports are located close to the Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Air India’s message

Air India said that its flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot will remain canceled till 05:29 am on May 15. However, this is a changing situation and we request customers to check our official social media handles for the latest updates.

The airline said, ‘Customers holding valid tickets for travel during this period will be given a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund on cancellation.’ Low-cost airlines IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa Air have also issued similar advisories. (IANS)
