Why will banks be closed on Monday 26 May?

Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birthday will be celebrated every year on 26 May. He was a great Bengali poet, musician, writer and revolutionary, known as the rebel poet. Through his compositions, he raised his voice against social injustice, religious fanaticism and British imperialism. His poems and songs are still considered symbols of freedom, equality and human dignity. For this reason banks will remain closed in Tripura.
