Diwali Gift for Anganwadi Workers: The Maharashtra government has announced a special gift for Anganwadi workers and helpers this Diwali. State Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare said that approximately 110,000 Anganwadi workers working under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) will be given a Diwali bonus of ₹2,000.

The Maharashtra government has announced a special gift of ₹2,000 for Anganwadi workers and helpers this Diwali. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare stated that ₹40.61 crore has been approved for this scheme and will soon be credited to the accounts of all Anganwadi workers working under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. The state government has made this festive announcement to recognize their dedication and hard work, making their celebrations even more joyful.

Aditi Tatkare said that Anganwadi workers and helpers play a vital role in the care, nutrition, and overall development of women and children. Therefore, this Bhaubeej gift is being given to honor their service and enhance their happiness during the festive season. The Minister added that every Anganwadi worker and helper in the state is a true strength of society, so the government is making every effort to double their festive joy.

As of June 30, 2023, there are approximately 110,429 Anganwadi workers and assistants working in Maharashtra. This financial assistance will make Diwali memorable for their families. This decision will also boost the morale of Anganwadi workers and inspire them to perform their duties with greater dedication.

This initiative demonstrates the government’s sensitivity and responsibility toward the most vulnerable segments of society. Initiatives like this not only provide financial support to workers but also enhance their social standing.
