How to submit life certificate?
Pensioners can submit their life certificate online or offline. For online submission, pensioners use the Jeevan Pramaan portal or the UMANG app, where a digital certificate is generated after biometric verification through Aadhaar. For offline submission, they can visit a bank branch, CSC center, or doorstep banking service, allowing them to submit from the comfort of their homes.
Online submission process
To submit online, pensioners visit the Jeevan Pramaan website and enter their Aadhaar number, mobile number, Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, bank account number, and the name of the pension authority. After an Aadhaar-based fingerprint or iris scan, pensioners receive a digital life certificate, which the pension disbursing agency can access online.
Additional online deposit options
Life certificates can also be submitted through the UMANG app, which generates the certificate directly through biometric verification. Face authentication has also been implemented, allowing pensioners unable to provide fingerprints to submit their life certificates using a mobile camera. Additionally, doorstep banking services from post offices will also offer a doorstep service experience.
Why is it necessary to submit life certificate?
This certificate proves that the pensioner is alive, without which pension payments may be stopped. The government conducts this process every year to ensure that every pensioner, especially the elderly and disabled, has access to this benefit. Timely submission of a life certificate will ensure that pension payments are not interrupted and seniors can continue to enjoy their financial security.
Submitting a life certificate is a mandatory and essential process for receiving a pension, which offers digital and offline options to simplify the process technologically. Pensioners are advised to submit their certificates in a timely manner to avoid any disruption in their pension and avoid financial stress.
