The launch date is locked. That happened. The next-generation Kia Seltos—a hugely important model for the brand—has been unveiled in India, with prices slated to be announced on January 2, 2026. Deliveries start later that month. This isn’t just a facelift; it’s a total generational shift, bringing some massive changes to the mid-size SUV segment.
Here are the big five areas where the 2026 Seltos is changing the game:

1. New K3 Platform for Safety & Stability
This is a structural overhaul, or nothing. The brand ditched the older K2 platform (which still underpins the Creta and Carens) for the all-new K3 platform.
Why it matters: This shift is crucial because it promises improved overall safety and better vehicle stability. For context, the related Kia K3 sedan (built on a similar platform) has already scored a 5-star rating in Latin NCAP crash tests, which hints at the structural integrity. The new platform uses more high-strength and hot-stamped steel for better crash protection.
2. Significantly Larger Dimensions
The new Seltos grew. And then it grew some more.
Length: Now 4,460 mm, which is a solid 95 mm longer than the outgoing model.
Width: Up by 30 mm to 1,830 mm.
Wheelbase: An 80 mm increase, stretching to 2,690 mm.
The payoff: More length and a longer wheelbase directly translate to improved cabin space, especially for rear-seat passengers, and better high-speed stability on the road.
3. Futuristic Interior & Integrated 30-Inch Display
Step inside and it feels like a completely new cabin, let’s be real.
Cockpit: The dashboard is redesigned with dual-tone leatherette upholstery and a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel featuring the offset Kia logo.
The Tech Centerpiece: The centerpiece is a stunning 30-inch integrated curved display. This single unit houses both the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system.
Smart Design: The thing is, despite all that high-tech screen real estate, Kia wisely kept physical controls and rotary switches for key functions like the AC, which improves usability and maintains that premium feel.

4. Design Update: Vertical & Connected Lighting
The styling adopts Kia’s latest global design language, making it look much more aggressive and modern.
Front End: Expect a much larger ‘tiger-nose’ grille, vertical LED DRLs, and revised bumpers with gunmetal skid plates.
Rear End: The biggest change here is the new connected tail-lamp setup that runs across the tailgate, giving it a wide, contemporary look.
More Color: They’ve added two new options: Morning Haze and Magma Red, those too.
5. Enhanced Safety & ADAS Level 2
The features list is comprehensive, emphasizing both comfort and safety.
Convenience: New features include dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a powerful Bose eight-speaker system, ambient lighting, and a head-up display.
Safety Standard: Six airbags are standard. You also get all-wheel disc brakes, Hill-Start Assist, and Electronic Stability Control.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): The Seltos is getting a Level 2 ADAS suite with multiple functions, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and navigation-based smart cruise control. They’ve also recalibrated this suite for India-specific traffic conditions—that’s the kicker.
