The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced 12 days of holidays for banks across the country in the month of June. The 12 days of holidays include weekend holidays i.e. all Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays. That is, banks will remain closed for 6 days due to festivals. These holidays are declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act and there is no public transaction in banks on these days. Banks are also closed on all Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Therefore, bank customers are advised to complete their important work before the holidays, so that they do not have to face any problem. Banks will remain closed for a total of 12 days in June 2025, so complete your bank related work in time.

When will banks remain closed in June 2025?

Public Holiday List

  • 6 June (Friday): Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) – Banks will remain closed in many states of the country.
  • 7 June (Saturday): Bakri Eid (Id-ul-Zuha) – Banks will remain closed in most states.
  • 11 June (Wednesday): Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti / Saga Dawa – Banks closed in Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh.
  • 27 June (Friday): Rath Yatra / Kang (Rathajatra) – Banks closed in Odisha and Manipur.
  • 30 June (Monday): Remna Ni – Banks closed in Mizoram.

  • 1 June (Sunday)
  • 8 June (Sunday)
  • 14 June (Saturday – second Saturday)
  • 15 June (Sunday)
  • 22 June (Sunday)
  • 28 June (Saturday – fourth Saturday)
  • 29 June (Sunday)

Digital banking services will remain operational

During these holidays, digital facilities like net banking, mobile banking app, UPI, wallet and ATM will work as before. That is, you can transact money online. If you have to deposit a cheque, get a draft made, open an account or go to the branch for any other work, then try to finish this work before the holidays. Also, contact the bank branch in your area and get information about correct and updated holidays.
