Microsoft Layoff Update: The sword of layoffs has been deepened in the giant tech company Microsoft this month as well. Last month, Microsoft laid off about 6 thousand employees and now this month too, after just two weeks, the doors of the company have been closed for some more employees.
Microsoft Layoff Update: Bill Gates’ Microsoft employees have been hit by layoffs again after just two weeks. Earlier in May, the company laid off about 6 thousand employees, which was Microsoft’s biggest layoff in the last few years. Now once again the company has laid off more than 300 employees on Monday. News agency Bloomberg has revealed this on the basis of Washington State notice. This layoff at Microsoft is happening due to AI (Artificial Intelligence) in which the tech company is investing billions of dollars.
Which Microsoft employees got shocked?
A Microsoft spokesperson said that the employees being fired this time are in addition to the 6,000 employees laid off last month. The spokesperson says that the company’s structure will continue to change to keep it in the best position for success in a rapidly changing market. The layoffs that took place last month affected software engineers, but it has not been revealed who has been hit this time. According to the data of June 2024, the company had 2.28 lakh full-time employees, out of which 55 percent were working in America.
Jobs are being lost due to AI
Artificial intelligence is growing rapidly and this has caused a stir in the tech market. This is because companies are now giving priority to AI-related jobs and using technology to save money. Microsoft and other companies including Meta Platform are boasting AI-based coding tools to speed up the software development process. Last week, Salesforce said that internal use of AI has been successful in working with minimal workers.
