New Delhi Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries has expanded its online grocery business to 200 cities under the JioMart brand. The company is serving large cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata as well as smaller cities like Mysuru, Bathinda and Dehradun. According to the rating agency, D-Mart’s revenue fell by 45 per cent year-on-year in April as about 50 per cent of the company’s stores remained closed or opened for a limited time. In such a situation, the reduction in sales at offline stores can be overcome to some extent by online orders.
CLSA has said that currently JioMart will deliver goods to people using Reliance’s offline grocery supply chain.
Users can order grocery items through JioMart’s website. Fruits, vegetables, dairy and baked goods, pulses, snacks, branded food, beverages and personal and home care items are available on the company’s platform.
CLSA stated that while ordering goods due to lockdown you are not making any promises from the company regarding the delivery timeline but the company’s goal is to ensure delivery of the goods within two days.
