When will the JEE Advanced 2026 exam be held?
The JEE Advanced exam in 2026 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee. The institute has previously released important information regarding the exam, such as exam dates and eligibility criteria. According to the official schedule, JEE Advanced 2026 will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at designated exam centers across the country.
Which students will be able to appear for JEE Advanced 2026?
Only students who secured a rank within the top 250,000 in JEE Mains 2026 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. Category-wise reservations will apply, with PWD candidates receiving 5 percent reservation per category. IIT Roorkee has also released new eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2026. These criteria require candidates to be born on or after October 1, 2001. SC, ST, and PWD category students are given a five-year age relaxation. Candidates can also appear for JEE Advanced only twice, and in two consecutive years.
Rules on 2024 pass out students
Candidates must first appear for the 12th grade exam in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Students who appear for the 12th grade exam in 2024 or earlier will generally not be eligible for this exam, although exemptions are available in certain special cases. Candidates who previously enrolled in an IIT course and canceled their admission after seat allotment will not be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026. However, candidates who completed a preparatory course in 2025 and failed to report for JoSAA 2025 despite being allotted a seat will be able to appear for the exam.
JEE Advanced 2026 Application Process
Applications for JEE Advanced 2026 are expected to open soon. The application process will be announced on the official website. Eligible candidates will then be able to apply for the exam. Along with the application, candidates will need to pay the prescribed fees based on their category. Female candidates, SC, ST, and PWD candidates will have to pay ₹1,600. Other candidates will have to pay ₹3,200.
