JAC Board Fee Hike: Fees have been increased in all government and aided schools in Jharkhand . The Jharkhand Academic Council ( JAC) has increased the fees for matriculation and intermediate examinations by approximately 35%.
This fee hike has been implemented for classes 10 to 12. The increased fees will be applicable from the next session ( 2026-2027 ) . The application process for these examinations also started on Tuesday .
Know how much fee will have to be paid now
The increased application fee was approved in a recent board meeting . Under the new fee, female students and students from SC, ST, BC-1, and BC-2 categories will now have to pay ₹980 for the matriculation exam. Students from the general category and economically weaker sections ( EWS ) will have to pay ₹1,180. The matriculation fee for private candidates has also been set at ₹1,180. If someone applies late, candidates from all categories will have to pay an additional ₹500 late fee.
Inter students will have to pay this much fee
The fee for the Intermediate exam has been fixed at ₹1,100 for female students and students from SC, ST, BC-1, and BC-2 categories. Students from the general and economically weaker sections will have to pay ₹1,400 for the Intermediate exam. Private students will also have to deposit ₹1,400 for the Intermediate exam. Additionally , JAC has increased the fee for students who wish to retake the exam or appear to improve their results.
The Jharkhand Academic Council has begun the application process for the 10th and 12th grade board exams on November 18th. The application process is being conducted entirely online. Students can fill out their forms in the “Exam Form Portal” section on the JAC ‘s official website, www.jac.jharkhand.gov.in. Students can fill out their forms without late fees between November 18th and December 5th. Students who fail to fill out their forms during this period can apply with a late fee from December 6th to December 12th.
