Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation i.e. IRCTC launched the Swarail app a few months ago. It is a new all-in-one railway app developed by the Center for Railway Information System i.e. CRIS. Through this special super app, you can use almost all the services provided by IRCTC at one place, which makes it a major upgrade over the old IRCTC Rail Connect app.
The app can now be downloaded from both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, the app is currently in beta phase. Users can log in using their existing IRCTC Rail Connect account or create a new account.

These features are available in the app
The Svarel app lets you book reserved, unreserved and platform tickets, eliminating the hassle of waiting in long queues. To book a reserved or unreserved ticket, tap on the option of your choice and on the screen that appears, simply enter the starting station and destination station, set a date and select the category in which you wish to travel. When you tap on the search button, the app will show you a list of trains just like the IRCTC website.
The interface is quite advanced
However, this is not just a railway app but it has many other features as well. The interface of the Swarail app is quite advanced, which gives users easy access to their desired services without many clicks. Also, like most banking apps, you can choose to log in to Swarail on iPhone using Face ID or choose the option to scan your fingerprint sensor on Android devices.

You get so many options
This new Swarail app on the home screen offers several options such as searching trains, checking PNR status, checking status of your coach, tracking trains in real time, ordering food, seeking help and feedback from railway authorities and filing for ticket refund, among others.
You get a special My Booking section
All these options are now just a tap away. This means you no longer have to open or install multiple apps or navigate through clunky UIs to find the options you want. If you travel frequently and find it difficult to manage bookings, Swarail has a dedicated My Bookings section that lets you quickly check all your past and future railway bookings.
