New Delhi: After the high-speed Vande Bharat and comfortable Amrit Bharat trains, the Indian Railways is now preparing to launch another special train. To boost tourism in the country, the Railways has launched “Bharat Gaurav” themed trains.
These trains have been specially designed to promote domestic tourism and pilgrimages. Passengers can easily book tickets on the IRCTC tourism website. These trains can take you to heritage sites and holy places in every corner of the country. These trains are named Gaurav Bharat Trains.
Gaurav Bharat train of three categories
Gaurav Bharat trains have been designed in three classes: Second AC, Third AC, and Sweeper Class. These trains have been designed keeping in mind the convenience of all types of passengers across the country, ensuring convenience for travelers of all budgets and needs.
- First Class of Gaurav Bharat Train – IRCTC’s Bharat Gaurav tourist train. It has sleeper, third AC, and second AC coaches. Each train can carry 700 to 800 passengers. It is ideal for those looking for a budget group pilgrimage or sightseeing trip.
- The second class of the Gaurav Bharat train – Deluxe AC Bharat Gaurav train. It is fully air-conditioned. It consists of First AC, Second AC, and Third AC coaches. There are a total of 268 seats. Each coach is equipped with an electronic safe, foot massager, a large infotainment screen, modern bathrooms with showers, two restaurants, and CCTV cameras. This train provides a 5-star hotel experience. Passengers can enjoy complete comfort, safety, and entertainment while traveling.
- The third class of the Gaurav Bharat train is the Karnataka Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train. It is jointly operated by the Karnataka government and IRCTC. This train offers excursions to holy sites like Kashi, Prayagraj, Gaya, and Ayodhya. The train is fully AC, with 11 third AC coaches and a pantry car. It can accommodate 700 passengers. Beautiful pictures of Karnataka’s famous temples, including Hampi, Mysore Palace, and the Kodanda Rama Temple, are displayed on the outside of the train. The Karnataka government provides subsidies to pilgrims, making tickets cheaper.
Memorable experience
Railway officials say, “Bharat Gaurav trains are not just a journey, they are a memorable experience. We want people to get to know their country’s culture, history, and faith intimately.” Currently, these trains operate on several routes, such as the Ramayana Circuit, Jyotirlinga Yatra, Buddhist Circuit, Northeast Darshan, and more.
