Actually, Indian Railways has increased the fare for long distance trains including AC and non AC mail and express from July 1. This increase has been done for different categories of trains. The fare of mail and express trains will increase by 1 paisa per kilometer, while the fare for AC category will increase by 2 paisa per kilometer.

This will be the fare between Delhi and Patna
The fare for Rajdhani train from Delhi to Patna is currently Rs 2485, which will increase to Rs 2505 from April 1, that is, the fare has increased by 2 paisa per kilometer, the distance from Delhi to Patna is about 1000 km.
Similarly, the fare of 3A of Sampoorna Kranti Express running between Delhi and Patna is currently Rs 1350, while from July 1, the fare will increase by about 20 rupees. That is, from July 1, the fare will increase to Rs 1370. At the same time, the fare of Delhi-Patna sleeper class is currently Rs 510.
According to the railways, the fare of Non-AC train is going to increase by 1 paisa per kilometer. According to this, the fare of sleeper class from Delhi to Patna will increase by Rs 10, that is, from July 1, the sleeper fare from Delhi to Patna in Sampoorna Kranti will be Rs 520.
Not everyone will get Tatkal ticket?
Indian Railways has changed another rule. Railways has made Aadhaar verification mandatory for Tatkal ticket booking. This rule will come into effect from July 1, without Aadhaar authentication no person will be able to book Railway Tatkal ticket. The purpose of this rule of Railways is to stop fake booking of Tatkal tickets and to make seats available for most of the passengers.
OTP mandatory from July 15
The notice said that from 01-07-2025, tickets under the Tatkal scheme can be booked through IRCTC website and app, for which Aadhaar authentication will be necessary. It has also been said that from July 15, passengers will have to complete another step of Aadhaar based OTP verification while booking Tatkal tickets.
