News Railway Rules: The Railways will implement changes to ticket booking rules from October 1st. This will benefit passengers who book tickets online. Learn about the new rules.
Millions of people travel by train every day in the country. Thousands of trains are operated by the Railways for these purposes. Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of passengers, the Railways periodically changes its rules. These rules are implemented keeping in mind the convenience of passengers.
Starting October 1st, a major change is going to be implemented in ticket booking, specifically for online booking, as many passengers book tickets daily through the IRCTC app and website.
IRCTC has implemented a new rule to prevent fraud in online ticket booking. Under this rule, only passengers whose IRCTC account is Aadhaar-verified will be able to book tickets within the first 15 minutes of the opening of general reservations.
This change is intended to curb the practice of agents who often book tickets in bulk and then sell them elsewhere. This will make it easier for the average traveler to obtain tickets, and the online booking process will become more transparent.
This rule, implemented by Indian Railways, will make booking tickets as easy as booking Tatkal tickets. Passengers who log in with their verified accounts on time will receive priority and can book tickets faster.
This move by IRCTC will reduce the potential for fraud in online ticket booking. It will also provide an easy way to immediately stop any reported misuse, and will prevent brokers from rigging ticket bookings.
Passengers who first verify their IRCTC account with Aadhaar will be allowed to book tickets between 8:00 AM and 8:15 AM. Those whose IRCTC accounts are not Aadhaar-verified will not be allowed to book during this time.
