If you regularly travel by train, this news is special for you. Yes, Indian Railways has implemented new ticket booking rules, which are very important for you to know. With these new rules, passengers will face some changes when purchasing tickets. These rules aim to increase transparency and crack down on ticket touts.

Now, only a limited number of tickets can be booked per user ID, and the Railways has tightened ID verification. Furthermore, changes have been made to the ticket cancellation and refund process to prevent misbooking and fraudulent ticketing. The Railways says that these new rules will make the system more secure, transparent, and convenient in the future. Passengers will enjoy a better experience and see a reduction in the number of fraudulent bookings.

Now a person will get only 12 tickets in a day

The most significant change in the new railway ticket booking rules relates to user verification and booking limits. Following the implementation of the new rules, a person can book only 12 tickets per day, up from 24 previously. Linking your Aadhaar card will now be mandatory when logging into IRCTC. This step has been implemented to prevent fraudulent bookings by touts and bots. The booking window for premium Tatkal tickets has also been changed, which will increase the chances of ordinary passengers getting tickets.

What did the Railways do to make booking safe and speedy?

Several new features have been implemented on the IRCTC website to make ticket booking safe and speedy. OTP verification will now be required when booking tickets. This will prevent bookings using fake IDs. The refund process for ticket cancellations has also been expedited. Improvements have been made to the online payment gateway to reduce the hassle of transaction failures. Passengers will be immediately notified via email and SMS upon booking.
