IRCTC has launched a new initiative to promote pilgrimage to major ‘Jyotirlinga’ sites. Today “Jyotirlinga Darshan Yatra Train” will be launched for these destinations. The journey of this train will be for 11 days and 10 nights, which will pass through Jyotirlinga places.



IRCTC has launched a new initiative to promote pilgrimage to four major ‘Jyotirlinga’ sites of the country. Today “Jyotirlinga Darshan Yatra Train” will be launched for these destinations. The journey of this train will be for 11 days and 10 nights, which will pass through Jyotirlinga places. The fare for its journey will be taken more than 10 thousand rupees. It is being told that this train will be started from Sangam station of Prayagraj.

Jyotirlinga temples are devotional places dedicated to Lord Shiva across the country. While there are many such places in India and Nepal which are considered sacred and devotees express their desire to travel here. It is believed that there are 12 such major temples, out of which Jyotirlinga Darshan train will facilitate travel to four Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Somnath and Nageshwar Jyotirlinga. Along with this, the facility of travel to Statue of Unity and Udaipur will also be provided. The journey of this package will be of 10 nights and 11 days, which will cost Rs 10,395. According to IRCTC officials privy to the matter, bookings for the Jyotirlinga Darshan tourism package had already started earlier this month.


Jyotirling Darshan Yatra

Jyotirling Darshan special pilgrimage train will start its journey from Prayagraj. Passengers can board the train and travel from several stations along the route including Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Kanpur, Etawah, Bhind, Gwalior and Jhansi. Apart from the four Jyotirlingas, pilgrims will also be taken to visit the Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka, Bhent Dwarka Temple, Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and the Statue of Unity in Baroda. Along with these tourist places, the train will also have stoppage at Udaipur city, taking passengers to visit City Palace, Saheliyon Ki Bari and Maharana Pratap Memorial.

This facility will also be available to the

pilgrims, pure vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided on all days during the journey. Apart from this, local bus facility for visiting the site and staying in Dharamshalas etc. will also be provided by IRCTC, which is inclusive of all these expenses in the cost of the ticket.
