The e-mail has been sent in such a way that at first sight it seems that it has been sent by the Income Tax Deptt. But this is completely fake. The screen shot of this e-mail is also going viral on social media. Seeing which many people are getting confused. Let’s know the whole reality.


What information was given in the e-mail?

It is written in the mail that you have to inform that Income Tax Dept has completed the work of account audit. You are entitled to get Rs 41,104.22 but one of your details is wrong. Please cross check and apply for refund as per rules. In the matter of the e-mail, information has been given at the bottom that this e-mail has been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax.

The case is completely fake

On gathering information about the screen shot of the e-mail going viral, it was found that it is completely fake. The reality came out after PIB Fact Check of the e-mail. On the basis of the fact check, it was told that the e-mail coming in the name of Income Tax India is fake and this claim is completely false. Investigation found that this e-mail is being sent to people from webmanager@incometax.gov.in .

Government’s official fact

Checker ‘PIB Fact Check’ has prohibited people from forwarding any such misleading message. The above message was told by PIB Fact Check that this claim is completely fake. No such order has been given by the Finance Ministry.
