Update Account on Income Tax Portal

To make the process of filing Income Tax Return easy, it is important to keep all the required documents with you. Most of the salaried taxpayers use the ITR-1 form and most of the information is pre-filled in it. Along with this, the most important thing is that without updating your bank account on the new income tax portal, you cannot do ITR filing. So make sure to update the account. After updating the account, once you must confirm whether all the bank information is updated in the new portal or not.

New Annual Information Statement on Portal The

Income Tax Department on last Monday released a new Annual Information Statement (AIS) on its portal. It provides an option to respond with comprehensive information of the taxpayer. The new AIS includes additional information related to interest, dividends, securities transactions, mutual fund transactions and remittances abroad.

Ease of filing returns

The new AIS also provides a simplified Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS). It simplifies things in filing returns. If the taxpayer submits the response on AIS, the information in TIS will automatically be updated in real time and will be used for filing the return.
