Heavy Rain Alert: India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of the country for the next seven days. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains are likely in northeastern states including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh. IMD has issued an alert for some areas.

According to IMD, many states of North India including Delhi-UP, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh will continue to receive rain in the coming days. Very heavy rains are also expected in some areas.
States of Northeast India – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive heavy rains from August 8 to 14. On August 8, i.e. today, extremely heavy rains are occurring at different places in Arunachal Pradesh.
Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh during August 8 to 14. Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at some places in the western Himalayan region and plains.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely at some places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till August 14.
Odisha and Bihar may receive rain during August 9, 12 and 13. Rain is likely in many areas of Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand on August 8.
Heavy rain is likely in Marathwada on August 8. Heavy rain may occur in Konkan and Goa on August 8, 12 and 13. The rain may continue in many other areas till August 13.
Heavy rain is likely at some places in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rayalaseema till August 9. On August 8, heavy rain may occur in Kerala and Mahe, Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
