According to the Meteorological Department, a warning of very heavy rains has been issued at some places in South Peninsular India. There is an alert of extremely heavy rains at some places in Konkan and Goa till June 14. The Meteorological Department estimates that the monsoon may remain in an active state during the rains.
According to the IMD, an upper air cyclonic circulation persists at lower and middle tropospheric levels from North Coastal Andhra Pradesh to West Central Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation and trough persist from northeastern Rajasthan.
At the same time, a cyclonic circulation of upper air is active in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. A new western disturbance in the form of a trough in the mid-tropospheric western winds may become active from tomorrow i.e. June 13.
Due to seasonal activities, light to moderate rain may occur at many places in Kerala, Mahe, Karnataka, Lakshadweep for the next 7 days. During this time, light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at some places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana with strong winds at a speed of 30 to 50 kmph.
Till June 15, strong winds at a speed of 50 to 60 kmph may occur in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Karnataka.
Heavy rain is expected in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana. Apart from this, heavy rain is expected in Kerala, Mahe till June 15.
Heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Kerala, Mahe from 14 to 16 June. While heavy rains are expected in coastal and southern interior Karnataka on 13, 14, 15 and 16 June.
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rains, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds of 30 to 40 kmph in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, Goa in the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Department, lightning and winds of 50 to 70 kmph may occur in Gujarat on 14 to 16 June, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, Goa on 12 to 14 June.
Light to moderate rain is likely at some places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim for the next 7 days. Apart from this, Andaman-Nicobar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha may experience thunder, lightning and strong winds at the speed of 40 to 50 km per hour on 12-13 June.
Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand may experience thunder, lightning till 15 June and winds at the speed of 50 to 70 km per hour may occur in Madhya Pradesh on 14 to 15 June.
