Heavy Rain Alert: There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in eastern Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh till August 1. Heavy Rain Alert: Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in eastern Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh between July 31 and August 1. The Meteorological Department has expressed the hope that heavy to very heavy rains will continue in north-eastern India for the next seven days. There is also a possibility of rain in the peninsular areas of South India for the next 6-7 days. Also, light rain may occur in central India from August 1. People have been advised to remain alert.
Possibility of heavy rain in these states
- Heavy rains are likely at many places in Jammu and Kashmir on July 31, and in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from July 31 to August 5.
- There may be rain in Punjab between 3 to 5 August, Haryana, Chandigarh and Eastern Uttar Pradesh between 2 and 5 August.
- Heavy rains are expected in western Uttar Pradesh from July 31 to August 5, and in western Rajasthan from July 31 to August 1.
- There may be heavy rains in eastern Rajasthan from 31st July to 1st August and then on 4-5th August.
- On July 31, very heavy rains may occur in Eastern Rajasthan and Western Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal.
- Thunderstorms, lightning and light to moderate rain are possible over the Western Himalayas and plains for the next 7 days.
Meteorological department alert regarding heavy rain
- Heavy rains may occur over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from July 31 to August 1 and then on August 5 .
- There is a possibility of rain in Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha on July 31.
- There may be heavy rain in Bihar from 31st July to 2nd August and 5th August.
- There may be heavy rain in Jharkhand till August 1 and in Chhattisgarh on July 31.
- Heavy rains may occur at some places in Madhya Pradesh also on 31 July and 1 August.
- Very heavy rains are also likely at some places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between August 2 and 4, and over Bihar on August 3-4.
