IMD Rain Alert: Big news! Very heavy rain with thunderstorms, stormy winds for 3 to 4 days, IMD issued alert

Rain Havoc: Heavy rains are expected in many parts of the country in the next 4 to 5 days. The Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy to very heavy rains may occur in many states from May 31 to June 4.

Due to seasonal activities, heavy rains are occurring in many other areas including northeastern states and sub-Himalayan West Bengal, South Peninsular India, Eastern India. According to the India Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue in the northeastern states and sub-Himalayan West Bengal till June 1. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in northwest India for the next 3 to 4 days. Heavy rains are likely to continue in Kerala, coastal Karnataka during the next 4 to 5 days, in south interior Karnataka till June 2 and in Konkan and Goa till June 3, 2025.

According to the IMD, during the next 7 days, light to moderate rains may occur in many states in Northeast India from May 31 to June 3-4. Heavy rains are also likely at some places. Very heavy rainfall is likely at some places in Arunachal Pradesh on 31 May, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya on 31 May and 01 June.

North-West India Weather

According to the IMD, from 31 May to 4 June, there is a possibility of scattered to moderate rain and thundershowers and winds at a speed of 40 to 50 km/h over Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.

There is also a possibility of scattered rain at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

On 31 May, stormy winds ranging from 50 to 60 km/h to 70 km/h may blow in Jammu and Kashmir.

Stormy winds are likely to blow in Himachal Pradesh from 31 May to 2 June and in Rajasthan from 2 to 4 June.

West India Weather

From 11 to 3 June, Konkan and Goa are likely to receive scattered to moderate rains with thunderstorms and heavy rains at isolated places.

Weather pattern in East and Central India

On 31st May and 1st June, light to moderate rain accompanied with thunderstorms and winds of 40 to 50 km/hr are likely at isolated places over western Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar.
