IMD Rain Alert: Big news! Heavy rain alert in 12 states, strong winds will blow at a speed of 50-60km/h

Heavy Rain Alert: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of strong winds with thunderstorms at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka and Uttarakhand.

Weather warnings have been issued in many districts of the country. Under the ‘district rain warning’, red alert (severe warning) has been issued in some districts, which indicates potentially dangerous weather conditions. Apart from this, orange alert (warning) and yellow watch (vigilance) have also been issued in many districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of strong winds (50-60 kmph) with thunderstorms at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka and Uttarakhand.

There is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Odisha and southern interior Karnataka.

Hailstorms are likely at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Uttarakhand.

Issuing a map, the Meteorological Department said that red and orange alerts are prominently visible in parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and North Andhra Pradesh.

At the same time, yellow watch has been issued in parts of North India like Punjab, Haryana and northeastern states. No warning (green color) is visible in most parts of South India and western states, which indicates normal weather conditions.
