Rain with thunder in these states including Bihar
The weather has changed in Bihar-Jharkhand, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal from 17 April. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is a possibility of thunderstorms, strong winds at the speed of 50 to 60 km per hour, and hailstorm in different areas of these states on Thursday (17 April). Meteorological Department issued warning
- The Meteorological Department has predicted that moderate to heavy rains with strong winds may continue in many areas in Northeast and East India for the next five days.
- There may be rain with thunderstorms in Northeast and East India from 17 to 23 April. During this time, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour.
- There may be thunderstorms in Vidarbha on 17 April. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour to 60 km per hour.
- There may be strong winds with thunderstorms at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour to 60 km per hour in Chhattisgarh from 17 to 18 April.
- There will be heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh on 17 April and 22 to 23 April.
Heavy rain and hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh
The weather is changing due to a new western disturbance. Heavy rain and hailstorm accompanied by thunderstorm occurred in various parts of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Due to strong winds and rain, trees were uprooted in many areas of the state and power supply was disrupted. On Wednesday, trees fell due to thunderstorm and hailstorm, roofs of temporary houses were blown away and power supply was disrupted in many areas. In Shimla, some vehicles were buried under falling trees. An eight-year-old child lost his life due to seasonal activities. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain, snowfall, hailstorm, thunderstorm, lightning in some parts of the state for Thursday and Friday.
Heavy rain in Punjab-Chandigarh
Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds occurred in Chandigarh on Thursday. Rain was also seen in many other parts of Punjab. According to the Meteorological Department, 8.3 mm of rain was recorded in Chandigarh. According to the Meteorological Department, 4.5 mm of rain was recorded in Amritsar, 3.2 mm in Pathankot, 18.8 mm in Gurdaspur and 6 mm in Rupnagar.
Rain continues in South India
Rain continues in South India. Between 17 and 23 April, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in Kerala and Mahe.
Between 17 and 24 April, sporadic to light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds is likely over the rest of South Peninsular India.
Effect of Western Disturbance
A cyclonic circulation remains over western Iran and adjoining areas. Due to its effect, thunder, lightning and strong winds may occur in the western Himalayan region on 18 to 19 April. Strong winds may blow in Himachal Pradesh on 20 April. Strong winds may blow in Uttarakhand between 20 and 21 April. Apart from this, heavy rain is likely at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh between 18 and 19 April.
