The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding heavy rain, hailstorm, dust storm and strong winds in various states of the country. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in many states from May 5 to 9, due to which farmers and common people have been advised to be alert.

Possibility of heavy rain in Odisha

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Odisha on May 4. Along with this, a warning of lightning and strong winds has also been issued. During this time, people have been advised to stay in homes and not to go out in the open.

Danger of strong thunderstorms and storms

According to the Meteorological Department, strong thunderstorms can occur in some places of East Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand, South Interior Karnataka and West Uttar Pradesh, whose speed can be up to 50-60 km per hour.

Rain with strong winds in these states

According to the IMD, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, East Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Vidarbha and West Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive rain with thunderstorms, lightning and winds with a speed of 40 to 50 km / h.

Monsoon-like weather in northeastern states as well

According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds and thunderstorms are likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim along with light to moderate rains. Heavy rain warning has been issued in Assam and Meghalaya from 5 to 8 May.

Hailstorm and dust storm alert

According to the IMD, hailstorms may occur in parts of East Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Dust storms are expected in West and East Rajasthan between 4 and 5 May.

Effect on Delhi-NCR and North India

According to the India Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and strong winds may occur in areas of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand from 4 to 6 May. There is also a possibility of lightning and winds blowing at a speed of 50-60 km / h in Delhi-NCR.

Weather will also have an effect in South India

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain, lightning and winds blowing at a speed of 30-40 km / h may occur in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema for the next 7 days.

Alert in western India too

According to the IMD, Gujarat, Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada may experience thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds between 4 and 8 May. Hailstorms are expected in the state of Gujarat on 5 and 6 May and heavy rains on 7-8 May.

Warning to fishermen

According to the Meteorological Department, winds may blow at a speed of 45-50 km/h in the northeastern parts of the Arabian Sea and near the Gujarat coast, Gulf of Mannar and Comorin area, which can go up to 55 km/h. Fishermen in these areas have been strictly warned not to go into the sea.
