Heavy Rain Alert: The conditions are completely favorable for the expansion of monsoon across the country. With the arrival of monsoon, heavy rains are occurring in many areas across the country. The India Meteorological Department estimates that heavy to very heavy rains will continue in many states from May 27 to June 1.
Heavy Rain Alert: According to the India Meteorological Department, a low pressure area has formed in the northwestern part of the Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast. It is slowly moving north. Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue over Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra and Goa during the next 6 to 7 days. According to the IMD, extremely heavy rains are likely in Kerala during 27 to 30 May.
On May 27, extremely heavy rains are likely over Konkan, valley areas of Madhya Maharashtra, coastal and valley areas of Karnataka as well as valley areas of Tamil Nadu. Apart from this, a new western disturbance may affect northwest India from May 29. The Meteorological Department has predicted that due to this, heavy rains may occur in many areas.
During the last 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains were observed at some places in Kerala and Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, West Rajasthan. Heavy rains were recorded at isolated places in South Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya, Tripura, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat.
Extremely heavy rains have been recorded at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Konkan and Goa. Stormy winds blew at a speed of 40 to 80 kmph at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, Karnataka, West Madhya Pradesh.
The southwest monsoon has advanced and has knocked on some more parts of the central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, remaining Tamil Nadu, parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rains are falling in many areas. According to a report by Skymet Weather, apart from this, the monsoon has covered the central and northwestern parts of the Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, parts of Assam and parts of Meghalaya.
Conditions remain favorable for the expansion of the southwest monsoon. In the next 2 to 3 days, this monsoon can reach the remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra, remaining parts of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, some more parts of the North Bay of Bengal, entire Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Sikkim.
According to a report by Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains may occur in Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, interior and coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and South Chhattisgarh. Heavy to very heavy rains may also occur at one or two places.
Thunderstorms are also likely in many areas. Rains may occur in Northeast India, Sikkim, Odisha, North Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, South-East Rajasthan, East Gujarat and Lakshadweep. Light rain and thundershowers may occur in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Western Himalayan regions.
