There is a possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorms and storms at many places in North-West India in the next 18 hours. Monsoon has once again become active in different parts of the country.
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning saying that there will be continuous rain in many states for the next seven days. During this time, heavy to very heavy rainfall may be recorded at many places. At the same time, the effect of thunderstorms and strong winds will also be seen.
Heavy rain alert in North-West India
Heavy rains are expected in most parts of North-West India from 31 August to 3 September. Heavy rains may occur in the southern areas of Himachal Pradesh between 31 August and 2 September. At the same time, very heavy rains are expected at some places in Uttarakhand on 31 August and 1 September. Continuous heavy rains are forecast in the Jammu region from 31 August to 2 September. The Meteorological Department clarified that very heavy rains may be recorded in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on 2 September.
Heavy rain warning in Gujarat and Maharashtra
According to the IMD, Gujarat and Maharashtra will witness heavy rainfall between September 3 and 6. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Gujarat region on September 4 and 5. Apart from this, flood-like conditions are likely to develop in Saurashtra and Kutch with heavy rains on September 5 and 6. Continuous rain will also continue in Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan-Goa.
Clouds will rain in Bihar, Bengal and Odisha
Rainfall will continue in eastern India for the next five days. Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal may receive heavy rainfall on September 1 and 2. Heavy rain warning has been issued in Odisha for the next four days. Apart from this, heavy spells of rain are also likely to continue in many areas of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Vidarbha region may receive heavy rains on September 2, 3 and 4.
Continuous rain in northeastern states
The rain is going to continue for the next seven days in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Heavy rains may occur in Assam and Meghalaya between 31 August and 2 to 6 September. At the same time, heavy rainfall has been predicted in Arunachal Pradesh on 5 and 6 September. During this time, there will also be a danger of thunderstorms and lightning in these areas. The IMD has made it clear that for the next seven days, there may be incidents of thunderstorms and lightning along with heavy rains in many parts of the country.
