Rain and thunderstorms are likely in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Andhra Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of strong winds and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema for the next five days.
According to the department, rainfall is expected to continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha for the next three to four days. Light to moderate rainfall is possible in isolated pockets of Bihar and Jharkhand on October 8th. Thunderstorms and strong winds of up to 30–40 kmph are also possible. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected in eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on October 8th.

Alert issued for fishermen
Fishermen have been advised to avoid certain sea areas from October 8 to 12. These include the Kerala coast and Lakshadweep on October 8 to 9, the Konkan, west-central, and southern Arabian Sea, and the Karnataka coast on October 8, and the Gulf of Mannar and the southern Comorin region on October 10 to 12.
