Heavy Rain Warning: The round of rain has started across the country. Due to heavy rains in the northeastern states, flood situation has arisen in many places. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding heavy rains. According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall is likely to continue at most places in Northeast India during the next 7 days. According to the IMD, strong winds and lightning are expected during rain at many places.
Heavy rain will occur in these states
Heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during June 09-12. Heavy rain may occur in Tripura on June 06 and 07 and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during June 09-11.
Possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds
According to the Meteorological Department, light/moderate rainfall is likely to continue at some places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 7 days. Light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds at the speed of 40-50 kmph is likely at isolated/some places over Madhya Pradesh on 06 and 07 June. Strong winds will blow over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha during 06-10 June; Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar on 06, Bihar, Jharkhand during 10-12 June.
Dusty winds will blow in Rajasthan
Light/moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places over East Rajasthan during 06-08 June. Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh on 11 and 12 June. Dust storms (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) are likely over West Rajasthan during 08-10 June.
Thunderstorms will occur over these states
Light/moderate rainfall is likely at many/few places over Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Karnataka during next 7 days. Light/moderate rainfall is likely at few/scattered places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema & Karnataka during 06-10 June with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching speed reaching 30-40 kmph. Light rain is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, South Uttar Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh on 09 & 10 June..
