Hyperion Engine: The Speed Secret

The key here is the engine—the new 1.5-litre Hyperion TGDi turbo-petrol.

  • Output: 160bhp and 255Nm of torque.

  • Availability: It’s smart; Tata has restricted this engine solely to the premium trims (Adventure+, Accomplished, Accomplished+), starting at ₹17.99 lakh. They want to position this as the spirited, upscale Sierra. Or nothing.

  • Driveability: It’s paired with a 6-speed automatic, designed to provide genuinely quick acceleration and effortless cruising. Hitting 222 kmph means it won’t even break a sweat at highway speeds. That’s the real benefit, let’s be real.

The base models still get the Revotron NA petrol and the Kyrojet diesel. The choice is clear: performance requires the Hyperion.

Design, Tech, & The Lounge Vibe

Beyond the speed, the Sierra is an icon reinterpreted. It already won the 2025 Red Dot Design Award. That happened.

  • Exterior: It retains the classic boxy, upright proportions, but everything is sleek now. Flush glazing, black roof finishers, and an updated three-quarter glass area that honors the original’s ‘airy feel’. Up front, you get connected LED DRLs and Tata’s claim of India’s slimmest production headlamps. Bold stuff.

  • Interior: The ‘Life Space’: Tata calls the cabin a “lounge-inspired ambience.” The star is the futuristic TheatrePro triple-display system: a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger display, and a 10.25-inch digital cluster, all under a single glass panel.

  • Comfort & Space: The new ARGOS platform means generous space (622-litre boot is huge). Features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a 12-speaker JBL Black system with Dolby Atmos, and a head-up display—a first for a Tata vehicle.

 Next Steps & Future Plans

The timeline is set now.

  • Bookings Open: December 16, 2025.

  • Deliveries Start: January 15, 2026.

The thing is, the platform is ready for more. Tata has already confirmed that an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) version is under development. That’s the logical next step, especially for an SUV that boasts 205mm ground clearance and decent off-road angles. It’s an ongoing situation, but the Sierra has made its performance credentials clear.
