There is good news for the people of Haryana including Gurugram. Haryana Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (HMRTC) has prepared a detailed report of a new metro project for Gurugram.
It will run from Gurugram Sector-56 to Pachgaon. According to Live Hindustan news, the total cost of this project is about ₹ 8,500 crores. The length of the route will be 35.5 km and it will include 28 stations. This new line will connect many residential and industrial areas of Gurugram.
New metro project
This metro line will start from near the Rapid Metro station in Sector-56 and end at Pachgaon. Important stations like Sector-61, Sector-66, Vatika Chowk, Kherki Daula, Sector-88, M-14, and P-7 are also included on this route. The prepared DPR report will be presented to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in October for approval. Before this, suggestions and objections will also be taken from HSIIDC on this.
Expansion of metro in the city
This new metro project is part of the larger plan to expand the metro network in Gurugram. The Old Gurugram Metro project is already underway, and now this new line to Pachgaon will fulfill the goal of connecting all major parts of the city. In another important development, HMRTC has started the process of handing over the operation of the Rapid Metro from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL). Until this process is completed, both companies will jointly handle the operations.
