Good news for SBI customers, now token facility will be available for payment through Google Pay

Users are able to pay with a secure digital token attached to their phone without having to directly share their credit and debit card details.

New Delhi. Digital payment service provider Google Pay on Wednesday said it has expanded its network of bank partners by introducing the facility to use cards as tokens on the Google Pay application. For this Google Pay has collaborated with several banks including State Bank of India (SBI), IndusInd Bank, Federal Bank and HSBC India.

The company said in a statement that after launching the service of using cards as tokens with Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI Cards and Axis Bank, Google Pay has now expanded to include debit cards of SBI, IndusInd Bank and Federal Bank and IndusInd Bank and HSBC. India’s credit card has been added to its service list. Token use of a card is a facility that enables users to make debit or credit card payments through a secure digital token attached to their phone without having to directly share their credit and debit card details.

Ikea launches e-commerce, mobile shopping app in Bengaluru

Furniture retailer Ikea on Thursday announced the launch of its e-commerce services and mobile shopping app in Bengaluru. The company said in a statement that more than 8,000 home decor products and solutions can be purchased through this app. The company opened its second Ikea India store in Navi Mumbai in December 2020.

Ikea already has an online presence in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara. The Ikea mobile shopping app includes product recommendation, rating and review options, along with an easy search and browsing experience, the statement said. Ikea India CEO Peter Betzel said Karnataka is a very important market for the company and a city center store will also be opened within Bengaluru in the coming times.
