Lucknow. Now booking an Uber bike ride to reach any destination along with a metro journey will become cheaper. Passengers booking Uber bikes from metro stations will get a discount of up to 50 percent or a maximum of Rs 20.
On Tuesday, an MoU was signed at the Hazratganj metro station in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation MD Sushil Kumar and Uber’s North India operations manager Madhulika Singh Gaur.
There will be a maximum benefit of up to Rs 20
Under the MoU, a discount of up to 50 percent or a maximum of Rs 20 will be given on booking Uber from any of the 21 metro stations of the North-South Corridor from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to Munshipulia. About 80 to 90 thousand passengers travel on this corridor every day.
Most of the travel is from metro stations like Hazratganj, Charbagh, Alambagh and Krishnanagar. Uber will also install mobile charging sockets at metro stations. So far, only Rapido has an agreement with Lucknow Metro. Rapido also gives discounts to passengers on booking.
Passengers will get more facilities
Rapido, Azigo and special Pink services are available for metro passengers in Kanpur. According to UPMRC officials, soon many more startups including Azigo will also provide special discounts to passengers. UPMRC Managing Director Sushil Kumar said that this MoU with Uber will save both money and time of passengers.
