almart-backed e-commerce Flipkart has launched new laptop series under ‘MarQ by Flipkart’ brand. The series is called Falkon Aerbook and comes at a starting price of Rs 39,990. The PCs will be available on Flipkart starting January 17.

The Falkon Aerbook laptop series has been developed in partnership with Intel and Microsoft, Flipkart said in a statement. In terms of specs, the laptop offers a 13.3-inch display and comes powered by Intel 8th generation core i5 processors. It has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid-state storage, with an extra SSD slot for expansion up to 1TB. It is backed by a 37 W-hr battery and has a claimed life of up to 5 hours.

Commenting on the launch, Adarsh Menon, senior vice president private brands, electronics and furniture, Flipkart, said, “Customers have left millions of reviews on our platform, letting us know their pain-points and the specs they desire. Through this, we have been able to develop the first MarQ by Flipkart laptop, designed specifically for Indian customers. The ‘Falkon Aerbook’ provides best-in-class features, creates a strong value proposition for our customers, and brings on-the-go computing within everyone’s reach. With the help of Intel and Microsoft’s expertise, we have developed a laptop that offers superior performance, designed to meet the needs of Indian consumers.”

In November, Flipkart partnered with Nokia to make an entry into smart TV segment in India. Nokia’s entry in the segment follows that of OnePlus and Motorola, both of whom launched their TVs in India last month. As part of a brand licensing partnership, Nokia-branded TV was launched at Rs 41,999. This Nokia-branded smart TV will come with ‘Complete Protection by Flipkart’ at an additional amount of Rs 999 that is said to cover damages for three years.
