The government has launched a new and unique scheme for air travelers that has the potential to transform the air ticketing system in India. Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu launched the scheme on Monday. Alliance Air’s scheme is called “Fare Se Fursat,” or Fixed Air Fare Scheme. This initiative advances the Prime Minister’s vision of making air travel accessible and affordable to the common man.

What is the ‘Fair to Fursat’ scheme?

Under this plan, Alliance Air will offer a fixed fare on select routes. This means that fares will remain the same regardless of when you book your ticket. This will eliminate the worry of last-minute ticket price increases.

This scheme will be implemented on selected routes as a trial from October 13 to December 31, 2025, to see how useful and popular it becomes.

On the occasion of the launch, along with Minister Rammohan Naidu, Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha, Alliance Air Chairman Amit Kumar and CEO Rajarshi Sen were also present at the event.

The minister said that this scheme is in line with the principles of ‘Udaan’ scheme and it will benefit the middle class, lower-middle class and people of small towns the most.

He said that with this fixed fare, passengers will have an idea of their expenses in advance and the worry of buying tickets at the last moment will end.

More facilities for passengers

The minister said his goal is to make air travel more passenger-centric and convenient. He added that the ministry has also launched “Flight Passenger Cafes” at airports, where

  • Tea for 10 rupees
  • Coffee for 20 rupees
  • Snacks are available for Rs 20

Now the next step is to eliminate the uncertainty of airfares.

What will be the role of Alliance Air?

Ramamohan Naidu described Alliance Air as the backbone of the government’s “UDAN” plan. The airline connects tier-2 and tier-3 cities with major cities. He said the “One Route, One Fare” concept is based on public service, focusing on people’s convenience over self-profit.

Changes in the airfare system

Until now, air ticket prices in India were dependent on demand, seasonality, and competition, resulting in daily changes. While dynamic pricing benefited airlines, passengers faced the hassle of last-minute ticket prices.

The “Fare Se Fursat” scheme addresses this issue by making fares stable, transparent, and reliable. This will give travelers, especially those from smaller cities and first-time flyers, the confidence to choose air travel.
