This is Swati Verma and I will sum up today’s session on Dalal Street and bring you cues and trading tips from market veterans for upcoming sessions.

Worries of global trade queered the pitch for the market further after news reports that a key Donald Trump trade advisor resigned. It was the sixth straight decline for the stocks.

Oil explorer Reliance IndustriesBSE -2.12 % and lenders such as ICICI Bank and SBI weighed heavy.



Adani Ports was the hardest hit in the Sensex’s decline of 284 points, or 0.85 per cent, at 33,033, which hit a fresh three-month low. The Nifty50 index settled down 95 points, or 0.93 per cent, at 10,154. On the Nifty map, there were 36 decliners, and 14 went up.

Adani EnterprisesBSE -7.24 % led the pack of those with a jump in open interest at 34.05 per cent. Amara Raja Batteries (19.73 per cent) and Torrent Pharma (17.77 per cent) lined up next.
