EPFO UAN Number Update: If you’re employed, is your PF deducted? Actually, according to the rules, PF is deducted from the salaries of employed people. A fixed amount is deducted from the employees’ salaries every month, and the company deposits an equal amount into their PF accounts. This amount also earns annual interest. If you’ve joined a new job or already have a PF account, you’ve likely received a PF number and UAN number.
This UAN number is required for various purposes, such as withdrawing money from your PF account and checking your passbook. However, you must activate this UAN number. But did you know that the process for activating your UAN number has changed? Probably not.
Earlier, UAN number could be activated like this
- To activate the UAN number, first visit the official website of EPFO https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
- Then you could activate your UAN number by clicking on the ‘Activate UAN’ option here.
This is the new way to activate the UAN number:-step 1
- Now, to activate the UAN number, you do not have to go to the official website of EPFO https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in.
- Now all you have to do is first download the Umang app on your mobile.
- Then you have to install this app.
Step 2
- After this, you will be asked for some information here, which you must fill.
- After this you will be logged in to the app.
- Then you have to go to the ‘EPFO Services’ section here.
Step 3
- After this, you have to go to the option of ‘UAN Activation’ here.
- Here you have to click on ‘UAN Services Through Face Auth’
- Then you can activate the UAN number of your PF account from here.
- After this your UAN number will be activated and you can login to your PF account.
