EPFO : The Ministry of Labor and Employment has launched the Employees Enrolment Scheme 2025. The scheme aims to provide social security benefits under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) to a greater number of employees.
Along with this announcement, Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also launched the EPFO’s new website, www.epfo.gov.in, which now features a simpler interface, improved navigation, and easier access to all services.
What is Employees Enrolment Scheme – 2025?
This scheme gives employers a one-time opportunity to enroll their employees in the EPF who joined their jobs between July 1, 2017, and October 31, 2025, but were left out of PF coverage. The scheme will be open from November 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026. This means employers can correct their old records and add employees to the PF scheme for six months.
Who can apply?
This scheme is applicable to all companies and institutions, whether they are already covered under EPF or not.
Employers can enter their employees’ details on the EPFO portal through the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) system. Face authentication-based UANs for each employee must be generated through the UMANG app.
Relief for employers
Employee contribution will not be required if PF was not deducted earlier.
Only a nominal penalty of Rs 100 will have to be paid, which will be applicable simultaneously across all EPF schemes.
The employer only needs to pay his PF share, interest (Section 7Q) and administrative charges.
If a company is already under investigation (Section 7A, Para 26B or Para 8 of EPS-1995), it can still avail the scheme, and the penalty will be limited to just ₹100.
EPFO will not open any new case (suo motu action) if the dues of old employees have been cleared.
What will the employees benefit from?
This scheme opens the door to providing benefits like PF, pension, and insurance to employees who, for whatever reason, were not previously enrolled in the EPFO. This will provide millions of workers with the benefits of long-term savings, retirement security, and social protection.
EPFO’s new website launched
In addition, the EPFO has revamped its website. It will now be easier than ever for members, employers, and pensioners to find services on www.epfo.gov.in.
