Panchkula. In Haryana, the agreement of electricity corporations with Paytm wallet has been broken, but despite this, the electricity corporation has clarified that consumers will be able to pay bills from Paytm. Let us inform that earlier the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam had issued instructions that no payment would be accepted through Paytm Wallet, but by evening-2, clarifying that all digital payments would be processed through alternate channels.

In fact, things got worse when Paytm demanded more money from the government in lieu of paying the bills of consumers. The government used to give two rupees to Paytm from its treasury in lieu of a bill. Paytm not only put a condition to increase this amount to 2.45 paise, but also put a condition to collect 1.45 percent amount from the consumers as convenience fee.

The government had agreed to increase the amount of its share but refused to impose convenience fee on the consumers. When things did not work out, the government terminated the long-standing contract with Paytm. PK Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Electricity Department, said that if Paytm had accepted the condition, then other companies on the digital platform would also demand more payment.

We cannot allow anyone to collect extra charges from the consumer, hence it has been decided to terminate the contract with Paytm. He told that even after this, the interest of the consumers will not be affected. He can pay the bills from Paytm Wallet as before and he will not have to pay any extra charge.
