Navratri is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country, and preparations for Dussehra are also in full swing. As a result, schools in many states have announced holidays for children. Some schools have announced holidays until October 6th, while others have announced holidays until September 30th. These school holidays have been announced so that students can enjoy the Dussehra festivities. - West Bengal: Schools in West Bengal will remain closed until October 6 due to Durga Puja. The holiday dates for government and private schools may vary slightly. Classes will resume after October 6.
- Assam: Schools in Assam have been declared closed till September 30 for Dussehra and will remain closed on October 2 on account of Gandhi Jayanti.
- Delhi: School holidays have been declared from September 29 to October 1, according to a notification from the Delhi Directorate of Education. However, private schools are subject to changes in the holiday dates. Classes will resume on October 3.
- Uttar Pradesh: School holidays have been declared in Uttar Pradesh on October 1 and 2 on the occasion of Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti.
- Bihar: Similarly, school holidays have been declared in Bihar from September 27 to October 2. Furthermore, holidays have been extended until October 5 in some districts.
- Jharkhand: According to an official notification, government schools in Dhanbad will be closed from September 27 to October 2. Furthermore, holidays have been extended in some schools until October 5.
- Odisha: Schools in Odisha will remain closed from September 29 to October 2 and are likely to reopen on October 3.
