Chennai-Narasapur Vande Bharat Rolls Out: Coastal Andhra Gets 9-Hour Link

Train travel just got a serious speed boost. Today marks the launch of the extended Vande Bharat Express service, now connecting Dr. MGR Chennai Central directly with Narasapur in coastal Andhra Pradesh. This is a big deal for the Konaseema region, which gets its first-ever Vande Bharat link.

This is an extension of the existing Chennai-Vijayawada service, and it promises to cut the journey time down to under nine hours. Let’s be real, that’s a major win for business travellers and pilgrims alike.

Ticket Fare: The Premium Cost

The Vande Bharat offers a premium travel experience with modern amenities. Here are the fares for the full Chennai-Narasapur route:

  • AC Chair Car (CC): ₹1,635

  • Executive Chair Car (EC): ₹3,030

The thing is, this extension provides a direct daytime link to Chennai, completely avoiding the need for passengers to transfer trains at Vijayawada. And then Y followed (This makes travel way smoother for everyone in the Konaseema region).
