OpenAI has taken a big step in the field of education in India by launching “India-first Learning Accelerator” which will promote AI-based education in the country. Under this initiative, IIT Madras is being given a research grant of Rs 4.5 crore and 5 lakh free ChatGPT Plus licenses will be made available to teachers and students, especially in government schools and AICTE-recognized institutions. The initiative aims to train teachers and students in course planning and developing digital skills, leading India towards AI leadership in education.

OpenAI has given a research grant of Rs 4.5 crore to IIT-Madras. This money will be used for research on cognitive neuroscience and education reform based on AI. The results of the research will later be made available to the public, so that more people can benefit from it.

OpenAI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, AICTE and ARISE Schools, will distribute 5 lakh free ChatGPT Plus accounts to students and teachers of government schools and technical colleges.
