The new guidelines have been brought regarding the class structure and infrastructure of schools which is an important step towards improving the quality of education and ensuring the best environment for the students. CBSE Schools Area: There will be as many classes as the area
According to the new policy of CBSE, now the number of sections i.e. classes from class 1 to 12 in schools will be decided on the basis of the total built-up area of the school. This simply means that the larger the area in the school, the more classes can be run. The special thing is that the number of sections for class 9-10 and 11-12 cannot be more than one-fourth (1/4th) of the total number of sections of the school. For example, if a school has a total of 20 sections, then there can be only 5 sections for 9-10 and 11-12 together. Apart from this, an additional carpet area of at least 400 square meters will be mandatory for every three additional sections. This rule will ensure that there is no overcrowding in schools and every student gets adequate space.
CBSE Schools New Guidelines: Special focus on basic facilities
CBSE has also released a new list of minimum educational infrastructure for schools so that children get a better environment for studies as well as other activities. Under this, every school must have a library of 112 square meters, where students can learn new things through books. Science, Maths and Computer labs are mandatory for classes 6 to 10 to enhance practical knowledge. Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs have also been included for students of class 11 and 12 which are necessary for higher education. Every school should have an infirmary or wellness room of 48 square meters so that the health of the children can be taken care of. There should be a large hall of 216 square meters or four separate rooms for music, art, sports and other activities so that the children develop all-round.
This decision of CBSE has been taken to raise the quality of education and provide proper facilities to the students in schools. In today’s era where there is emphasis on technology and practical learning. These guidelines will ensure that schools keep pace with this change. This will not only improve the level of studies, but students will also get a safe and comfortable environment. It will be a challenge for the existing schools to upgrade their infrastructure according to these standards, but in the long run it will prove beneficial for the future of the children.

These rules are like a test for school management. Small schools may have to increase their building area, while big schools will have to strengthen their facilities. This is also good news for parents because now their children will be able to study in a better environment.
