In the Corona era, the cyber threat inside the banking sector has been steadily increasing. A survey conducted in April-May of the Reserve Bank revealed that the cyber threat has reached the high risk zone. Also, the impact of the epidemic is going to last for three to five years on the entire banking system.

According to the survey of the Reserve Bank’s Financial Stability Report, it is the most dangerous risk zone ever. Cyber ​​conspiracy reached such a dangerous level for the first time in the 18 Systemic Risk Survey. The RBI had given five scales of cyber threat detection among people and experts involved in banking operations. The survey revealed a cyber threat in the high risk zone. Above this, only very high risk zone survives. In the survey conducted in October last year, it was in the medium risk zone.

The Reserve Bank
had issued an alert on 13 March to the relevant departments and agencies at the beginning of the Corona Crisis to make vigilant cyber security from the beginning. After that, more than 10 alerts and guidelines of effective steps related to dealing with different types of attacks were sent to the departments.


Important advice on Twitter: The
Reserve Bank is warning people through Twitter. People are being advised not to click any unknown links that come via mobile or email. Such links should never be answered, but it is good to delete them immediately if in doubt. Along with this, the advice of not sharing the information of OTP, UPI PIN, credit and debit cards with anyone is constantly being given by the Reserve Bank.
